Manchester Schools Track Championships 2013
This competition is open to Year 7 and Year 8 pupils from Manchester’s secondary schools and academies. The Championships have a full entry. this table - shows the teams that have entered
15 pupils will attend a six week programme that culminates in an individual 1 lap sprint competition for boys and girls. The top finishers in each league will be invited to a finale meeting before the summer school holidays. The same 15 pupils need to attend for the six weeks, it is not possible for riders to be substituted, as there is a progression pathway to adhere to.
Riders must ride the Velodrome hire bikes, not their own bike.
Riders need to wear gym attire, with two top garments, an undervest and tee shirt. Trainers can be worn, as all our bikes have toe clip adaptors. Singlet vests cannot be worn. This advice sheet will help riders prepare.
This is the opportunity for 300 pupils to experience the Manchester Velodrome, where Britain's most successful Olympic team train. The leaders boards will appear on this website page when the schools have ridden their race session.
Manchester Youth Cup
16 riders will be invited to this finale meeting on Sunday 7th July between 10:00am - 2:00pm. The selected riders will get a chance to mix with Youth track riders from the Go-Ride clusters, who will be riding some demonstration "mock races", and the selected riders from MSTC will have another chance to ride a 1 lap flying start time trial.
