UCI World Masters Track Championships pre training and booking information

Local travel plans
Since last year, the Metrolink tram system has been expanded, and we have our own tram station, "Velopark" across from the Ashton Canal footbridge. Riders, officials and spectators can now enjoy travelling to and from the National Cycling Centre by tram. Bikes are not allowed on the trams, but if bikes and/or wheels are in bike/wheel bags, then they are allowed. This may help your choice of hotel, that is near a Metrolink stop! Further details here
Pre WMTC training
Track time is available in advance of the official training for the WMTC. WMTC entrants need to complete a Health Questionnaire and e mail to admin@nationalcyclingcentre.com. This will register you as a customer, and you can then book training sessions in the table below. WMTC riders who are already on our system do not need to complete another form, unless there is a change to the health declaration to make.

Probationary accreditation
is normally issued to experienced track cyclists, who are unable to attend the accreditation process. The NCC is able to extend this scheme to entrants of the World Masters Track Championships. These candidate riders must however abide by the instructions of the coach, and that riders join in with the activities planned by the coach. Individual pursuit efforts are not appropriate for SQT (Structured Quality Training) sessions. Some sprint efforts may be possible, but only if the coach arranges the session accordingly. SQT conditions apply to probationers, including a maximum gear of 88.7 if riding in the line. Sprinters may ride a bigger gear for sprint efforts, but must ride 88.7” max in the warm up line, and no spare sprocket on the non drive side of the rear hub. However, if you have entered the championships, and don't have sufficient skills or experience to ride the sessions, you will be asked to leave the session.
If the candidate completes four SQT sessions successfully, full accreditation will be issued, costing £30.00.
Probationers cannot ride the Sprint/Keirin or Derny SQT’s, or the Madison SQT if they have not had Madison experience on an indoor track. WMTC application form for probationary accreditation
