When new indoor velodromes are built around the world, the developers and facility operators usually make a visit to the National Cycling Centre as part of their fact finding process.
We had a delegation from Milton, Ontario, Canada here on Saturday 14th January, and amongst the visitors was Steve Bauer, one of Canada's greatest ever cyclists, a maillot jaune wearer and stage winner in the Tour de France, a classics winner and an Olympic and World's medallist.
Steve lives in Toronto, and Milton is a suburb of Toronto. Canada are hosting the 2015 Pan American Games, and venues are being selected for the track cycling and BMX. Our guests got to see the BMX National Series Round 1, courtesy of British Cycling.
Delegations are welcome to arrange a visit, via admin@nationalcyclingcentre.com
