BMX for Kids

BMX for Kids

It's never too early to get the little ones introduced to this fantastic sport and get them on their way to being able to ride. We start our programmes from age 2 with our Balance Bike sessions.

Balance Bikes for ages 2 to 5 years

Our sessions are run by two members of the National Cycling Centre team who will deliver a coached session focussing on fun for your little one. The sessions can be adapted to each individual child’s needs making it easier or harder as required.

At the start of each session, the coach will ask if anyone is new and if necessary advise that the parent/guardian stays on the flat area with their child until their confidence has grown. All parents/guardians are encouraged to help their child if they need it.

With skills starting on the flat and moving onto the track, riders will work on their basic cycling and BMX skills along with fun games and exercises that work on their fundamental movements. Session will involve parent participation, but not to the same extent as Balance Bikes.

Riders will not have access to the Start Hill within this session, but there will be an opportunity to get signed off for them to access Mini BMX Racer.
