The National Cycling Centre is opening its doors on 18 and 19 July, giving local communities the opportunity to experience cycling in one of the UK's most iconic venues ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
Whether you're looking to try BMX for the first time or experience the thrill of riding on the velodrome, we have free sessions available across the weekend for confident riders.
Saturday 18 July – Junior BMX Sessions (Ages 5+)
Time: 12:00pm – 4:00pm
Young riders aged 5 and over can enjoy a fun introduction to BMX in our dedicated sessions.
What's included?
- 🚲 BMX bike provided
- ⛑️ Helmet and safety equipment provided
Please note:
- Riders must be able to ride a bike confidently.
- Places are limited and advance booking is essential.
- Please bring a drink or refillable water bottle.
Sunday 19 July – Adult Velodrome Track Sessions
Sessions available between: 11:45am – 4:45pm
Experience the excitement of riding on the world-famous velodrome with one of our adult taster sessions.
What's included?
- 🚲 Track bike provided
- ⛑️ Helmet provided
- 👟 Cycling shoes provided
Please note:
- Riders must be able to ride a bike confidently.
- We recommend wearing two layers on your upper body (for example, a T-shirt with a cycling jersey or another T-shirt).
- Shoulders must be covered. Singlet vests, triathlon vests or tri suits are not permitted unless worn underneath a sleeved top.
- Please bring a drink or refillable water bottle.
