Seventeen-year-old Emilio Saavedra joined an Inclusive Cycling Engagement Day on 28 February 2026, supporting children and young people who are blind or visually impaired.
Delivered in partnership with British Cycling’s Limitless programme and VICTA, the event aimed to make cycling more accessible and empowering. Emilio described the day as a fantastic experience and enjoyed it so much that he returned during half term to ride the track again on a Limitless session.
Attending the Royal National College for the Blind in Hereford, Emilio hopes to take up track cycling once he finishes college.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to create accessible pathways into sport for young people with visual impairments, helping to build confidence, independence, and enjoyment through cycling.
